The Moth

image

To Dr. Jose Rizal for whom our freedom we owed, risking his life to free our mother land from slavery.

Light reborn
Flicker
Leaving the shadow
Smoldered
Beneath the
Breeze
Heart pulse
Pounding
Night creature circling
The candle dwindled
Spread its
Wing
Like eagle
Gliding
In the wind
Flew toward the lamp
Gallantly kissed
The fire
It shushed
Leaving the table in
Indiscernible silence
O Night
O Please
Thou cruelest
Let me bury this hap
If it is thy way
Lest
Thou rest it upon my palm
Never seen such
Bravery before
Nor shall be
For hugging death
Perhaps
Are the greatest
Only those who fear for their life
Are the one whose feet
Buried already in the grave.
